Being a QRIOS Consultant

Hi Jesper, what do you do during your days, and what makes you especially curious in your role?

– I’m currently on assignment at Alfa Laval, where I work as a Global Project Manager within their GPHE business unit (Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers).

My curiosity is largely driven by the wide range of questions and tasks that a project involves. They are both challenging and educational, especially when a task that initially seems straightforward suddenly turns out to be more complex and extensive to investigate than expected. That’s why it’s very rewarding when, after a lot of hard work, you manage to uncover enough information to make a complex issue easy to understand and clear enough for the steering committee to make a decision.

What makes you want to stay at Qrios?

– Because I have the opportunity to apply my project management skills across several different industries and companies. At the same time, I broaden my expertise by gaining experience from many different project management models and methodologies.

What does a really good workday look like for you?

– I enjoy hectic days where you go straight from one meeting into the next. That’s when your ability to sort and filter information is truly put to the test, and where efficiency and planning skills are essential. These are also usually the days when you get to collaborate with as many colleagues as possible, which makes the workday much more enjoyable.

What type of problems do you enjoy solving the most?

– I enjoy tackling problems that are truly complex and complicated. Often, there isn’t one perfect solution; instead, it becomes the project manager’s responsibility to present the different paths forward and clearly explain the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

Hi Julia, what do you do during your days, and what makes you particularly curious in your assignment?

– I am currently on assignment at Jolife AB, which is owned by Stryker, a medtech company that produces a Lund-developed product for mechanical cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Here, I work with change control for updates to LUCAS, and my curiosity is driven by the cross-functional collaboration where all parts of the organization come together in the change process and create improvements together.

What makes the consultant role more developmental than you expected?

– The most developmental aspect of the consultant role is how quickly you grow. Being constantly thrown into new environments, ways of working, and perspectives means that you don’t just learn a lot – you develop at rocket speed.

How does curiosity create value for the client?

– By constantly looking for smarter solutions and new perspectives. This means you contribute with new ideas and discussions, challenge ways of working, and understand needs more quickly.

What is the most unexpected thing you have in your work bag?

– I always keep a craft project (knitting or crocheting) in my work bag to work on while I’m on the bus.

Hello, Sara! What do you work with during the days?

– Right now, I work as a consultant at Tetra Pak in Lund, as a Material Engineer. 

What makes you curious in your role right now?

– I find people and group dynamics very interesting, so I’m always curious about that. I try to read situations and moods and understand the environment around me.

In my role, I find it satisfying to identify ways to close gaps and to continuously work on improving and fine-tuning processes. Recently, there has been quite a lot of focus on AI, and I’ve been curious about finding ways to use AI to help solve certain parts of my work. It’s rewarding to find the right approach and see that it actually has an effect and makes the work easier.

What makes the consultant role more developing than you expected?

– Being a consultant is rewarding on so many different levels. You can end up working at companies of various sizes, and you usually work with new things in different areas, even if the processes are similar and the regulations are the same.

You are constantly faced with new challenges and you learn so much all the time. In each new assignment, you meet new colleagues and have to find your role in the group. You are also constantly taught to find the right approach as efficiently as possible so that you can do a good job and be of benefit to the customer.

What is the latest thing that made you really curious, and what did you do about it?

– As already mentioned, it relates to AI. I attended an internal AI training session and suddenly got an idea about how I could apply what was being presented directly in my work. It was a great realization and a really satisfying feeling when it turned out to work and produced good results.

What makes you want to stay at QRIOS?

– I feel that there are good opportunities for development at QRIOS. I like that I can combine my personal life situation with my work in a good way. I also appreciate the leadership, which shows drive, engagement, and care. In addition, I really enjoy working with my colleagues—we have a great group that respects each other and we have fun together.

Simply put, I think QRIOS stands for strong values that are reflected in real life. The strong participation in our joint activities is proof of that, I think.
